Astra joined us in November 2024, together with Hanna and Lulu. This beautiful black donkey with a white blaze on the nose is a real beauty!

Character

Cautious at first. But once Astra trusts you, very affectionate! Astra loves being stroked under the chin.

• Ears: Enormous ears! Can hear for kilometres.

Hanna joined us in November 2024, together with Astra and Lulu. The most reserved of the trio, but certainly not unfriendly!

Character

Keeps more distance than the other donkeys. Respect for boundaries is important! Let Hanna come to you.

Jente wandered completely alone. All the other animals had died — very sad for a herd animal. We collected Jente four years ago. Now Jente has friends again!

Character

Calm and friendly, but a little slower than other goats because of arthritis. Give Jente time!

• Health: Jente has arthritis and has difficulty walking

Our chickens live in the Chicken Caravan! They joined us three years ago and are now 4 years old. They lay a few fewer eggs these days, but they're loving life!

Character

Scratching, sand bathing, clucking and laying eggs — that's the life of a Champion Chicken!

• Eggs: Almost an egg every day! Takes 24-26 hours.
• Chicks: 21 days to hatch. Can walk immediately!
• Sand baths: Roll in sand to stay clean!

Knorrie and Spikkel were at a daycare centre where they were not treated well. Three years ago we collected them and gave them a safe, loving home.

Character

Friendly and clever pig! Loves rooting, mud pools and good food.

• Smart: Smarter than dogs! Recognise themselves in mirrors!
• Mud: Can't sweat — mud keeps them cool.
• Rooting: Strong snout for digging — natural behaviour!

Lulu joined us in November 2024, together with Astra and Hanna. The oldest and most curious of the trio — browner with a beautiful black stripe along the back!

Character

The most curious of all three! Often the first to come to visitors. Friendly, sociable and loves attention.

• Fact: Donkeys were tamed 5000 years ago!
• Smart: Can learn their names and recognise people!

Spikkel has the same story as Knorrie — mistreated at a daycare. This has had more impact on Spikkel. Spikkel has a separate section, but together with Knorrie.

Character

A little more timid due to the past. Spikkel can bite — not out of malice but fear. Observe from a distance, speak calmly.

Voempie wasn't getting the attention this dwarf goat deserved. When we heard this we picked Voempie up straight away!

Character

Headstrong dwarf goat! Curious, playful, loves climbing and jumping.

Fun Facts

• Breed: Dutch dwarf goat, 50-60 cm tall.
• Gestation: 5 months, usually 2 kids!
• Climbing: Born climbers with special hooves!
• Special: Rectangular pupils, can see almost 360 degrees!

Wollie came all alone to our farm after a wolf attack. Without an owner. We searched everywhere but nobody claimed Wollie. So we adopted Wollie!

Character

Cheerful and friendly! Loves coming to visitors. Mad about treats and fresh vegetables!

Fun Facts

• Wool: Shorn every year, enough for 2-3 jumpers!
• Gestation: 5 months, 1-2 lambs.
• Droppings: Small pellets, great for the garden.
• Approach: Walk slowly, speak softly, stroke along the back!

Help De Insecten!

Insecten zijn super belangrijk voor de natuur. Ze bestuiven bloemen, ruimen op en zijn voedsel voor vogels. Daarom hebben we speciale plekken voor ze gemaakt.

Een groot hotel met kamertjes van verschillende materialen:

Bamboe: Voor solitaire bijen

Hout met gaatjes: Voor houtbewonende insecten

Holle stengels: Voor kleine bijen en wespen

Schors: Voor lieveheersbeestjes en oorwormen

Wat Zie Je?

Bijen, hommels, zweefvliegen, vlinders, lieveheersbeestjes en veel meer!

Tip: Blijf stil staan en kijk goed - er gebeurt van alles!

Belangrijk: Niet aankomen - laat de insecten met rust in hun hotel.

Van Zaad Tot Oogst

In onze biologische moestuin verbouwen we groenten die je soms mag proeven of die gebruikt worden in de theeschenkerij.

Wat Verbouwen We?

Voorjaar: Sla, radijs, spinazie

Zomer: Tomaten, komkommers, courgettes, paprika's

Herfst: Pompoenen, kool, wortels, uien

Kruiden: Peterselie, bieslook, basilicum, tijm

Biologisch: Geen kunstmest of gif! Alles natuurlijk.

Leren: Zie hoe groenten groeien van piepklein zaadje tot eetbare groente.

Wat Leeft Er Onder De Grond?

De grond onder je voeten zit vol leven! Kom ontdekken welke diertjes er allemaal wonen in de bodem.

Wat Kun Je Vinden?

Wormen: Regenwormen maken de grond los en vruchtbaar.

Kevers: Loopkevers, mestkever en meer.

Miljoenpoten: Eten rottend bladmateriaal.

Spinnen: Leven in holletjes in de grond.

Pissebedden: Kleine opruimers van de natuur!

Belangrijk: Kijk, maar doe de diertjes geen pijn. Leg ze daarna voorzichtig terug.

Pluk Je Eigen Bloemen!

In onze bloementuin groeien prachtige seizoensbloemen die je mag plukken (met toestemming).

Wat Groeit Er?

Zonnebloemen, cosmea, zinnia's, afrikaantjes en vele andere kleurrijke bloemen. Elk seizoen weer anders!

Biologisch: Zonder bestrijdingsmiddelen, dus ook fijn voor de bijen en vlinders!
